And it seems to me This ain't actually Where we're supposed to be But then how are we Supposed to know?

DWB 04:28
Drinking coffee Because I can't fall back asleep So why not stay awake? Sometimes I feel like a god And other times I feel like I'm fading away But can I seize the day? That's when I slip off an edge But I'm gonna land in the water for now Drinking whiskey because I can't fall back asleep So why not stay awake? I gotta get up again Every time it's more tiring I'm down on my knees Then I'm up to my feet Then repeat Come and watch me try Last night I called you up Told you that I was heading west Lift this weight off my chest I have to drive into the night Past the truck stops and the street lights Maybe I'll pick a fight? My car broke down On the side of an old dirt road The sun was lying low I opened up the door Tumbled out on to the forest floor Is this all or is there more? I gotta get up again Every time it's more tiring I'm up on my feet Then I'm down on my knees Then repeat Come and watch me try Dirty white boy, singing his own anthem...

Winter Skin 04:21
Trying to follow But where did you go? Footprints disappear in falling snow I walked into this bedroom With an empty plate Just a flickering screen to satiate I found some nails And some lumber too Started putting up walls all around the room 'Cause in this weather There's no need to be bold The thicker your skin, the less you feel the cold As the sun melts all this snow I'll shed my skin Take it off and wash it in the water My winter skin The first ray of sunlight Slipped under my door Woke me from my sleep, curled up on the floor I climbed out the window And I fell upon the world Soaked in the rain, watched the fiddle-heads unfurl I need a friend Like a dog needs a bone I ran down the hill, I was headed for your home When I got to the house It was all boarded up A sign on the door Said "our time is almost up." I peered through a crack window I could barely recognize The glint of green in all that gray That had filled your eyes I grabbed the ax from the woodpile Started tearing at all the boards I dragged you out into the sunlight What could I do? Nothing more. As the sun melts all this snow You'll shed your skin Take it off and wash it in the water Your winter skin

Words and tunes Lost in the breeze With you Indian summer, baby Making me feel Like you're my lady I can't sit still when you're in the room If I reach out my hand, would you reach yours too? The sun is low, let's break out the wine We can get tipsy just in time. Why don't we Lay on the floor And shut the door? Look at me Will you love me Before we die? We can watch As the changes Go tumbling by Starts out strong Inventive loving Fresh feelings Hot like an oven This Indian summer Brought us together But can we weather A change in the weather? Days go by Minor bickering Did I make you cry? Feels like we're slipping But the sunshine Is fading And the light in your eyes Is illuminating Summertime Last minute loving Before the green leaves change Hold your hand No longer bluffing These feelings for you won't change

Saint Babe 03:25
I'm not exactly God-fearing Skip that Sunday every week Mama says I'm blasphemous Ain't never been on my knees But baby when I saw you Virginal and fully clothed I compared you to A goddess from a dusty tome Tell me what the preacher say? Alive again on the third day? Desire taking over me Singing this hymn to ecstasy Baby you're a saint Wanna worship at the church of you And if our love is tainted Come on, give me that forgiveness They nailed that homeboy to a cross Justice via crucifixion Never thought I'd be praying But loving you's a pious mission I'm going straight to God with this Gotta take it up with His holiness Cause you got me hungry for the answer This suffering for just a kiss Slip a glace, babe, show me some knee Sunday school be damned No more rosary Now gimme an Amen and let's ascend to heaven Baby you're a saint Wanna worship at the church of you And if our love is tainted Come on, give me that forgiveness

When I was a child I found love everywhere Even in the faces of strangers They smiled on me, I smiled on them Where has the time gone? Naked on the lawn Where has the time gone? I must be moving on We'll see See you remember But we can't, we can never go back We can try, try to find the feeling But I wonder what it would lack? When I was teenager I saw colors everywhere Even where the light was faded The aesthetics of the world amazed me Where has the time gone? Naked on the lawn Where has the time gone? I must be moving on Guess I'll be moving I must be moving on Guess I'll be moving I must be moving on Where has the time gone? Naked on the lawn Where has the time gone? I must be moving on

about

"As Homeboy Aurelio, Vitzthum and Allen prove a winning combination. On their first joint venture, their outside-the-box indie rock is fresh and memorable and rarely disappoints." - Jordan Adams, Seven Days

"Himself" is Homeboy Aurelio’s debut EP. Gabe Allen and Alex Vitzthum wrote and recorded this eclectic bunch of songs between May 2017 and March 2018. In January 2018 they ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to get the EP mixed and mastered, and they brought in an old pal, Lucas Hamilton, to play drums. The result is best experienced at top volume and with an open mind.
